Adventure Travel Guide and Yoga Instructor
“We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.”– Jawaharlal Nehru
In embracing my own life with a sense of passion, adventure, and truth, I hope to instill in others the ability to awaken their hearts and minds to this vast and beautiful world, and to exciting and unexpected experiences. For me, this love for travel all began during my time in college at the United States Merchant Marine Academy, an experience that allowed me to study abroad and visit many captivating places around the world. My sense of adventure and joie de vivre for life inspired me to choose an athletic career path, from my background as a competitive diver and with this the experience of cliff diving at Colorado’s beloved Casa Bonita restaurant, to launching a private swim business. My athletic career has always been dynamic and exciting, as I have been blessed to work as a fitness trainer, alpine and cross country ski instructor, triathlon coach, bike tour guide, along with teaching children karate. With this I am always challenging myself to broaden my horizons further and delve into new athletic endeavors, from learning how to to rock climb, snowboard, mountain bike, horseback ride, river raft, and even kite board. The passion and true joy I’ve gained from all my experiences has allowed me to embrace a fulfilling and exhilarating life path while inspiring others to journey through life with the same mindset. Parallel to this is my role as a mother to my two daughters, as through motherhood my fervor for life has only grown in knowing that my greatest blessing are my children. I have had the opportunity to travel the world with my daughters to places near and dear to my heart, and the three of us continue to inspire one another with our love for life and adventure. My journey into yoga is also something that has forever changed my life in inspiring my growth and transformation. After becoming a certified yoga instructor, I expanded my horizons and moved to Nicaragua for a job opportunity to teach yoga and Thai massage, which later blessed me with the experience of leading my first ever yoga retreat on Little Corn Island. This life-changing opportunity allowed me to share my love for yoga while immersing myself completely into an amazing and diverse culture. Most importantly it opened my eyes to the ever-expanding and changing world around me. Working for the airline industry at this same time allowed me to further my exploration within Central and South America, to places that are truly unique and off the grid. This led me to my most recent endeavor, an eight week yoga internship in Medellin Columbia, where I was blessed with the opportunity to teach yoga in both English and Spanish while experiencing a part of the world that I will forever cherish. Rare experiences like these have been invaluable for my growth and expansion, and I hope to continue to inspire others to expand their horizons, let go of expectation, fear, and inhibition, and remember that a life with passion is limitless.
